No film is safe it seems as today the official news of a remake of Gareth Evans’ masterpiece, The Raid, has been confirmed.

Taylor Kitsch has been offered the lead, a role Iko Uwais made so famous in the 2011 original with Frank Grillo also signing on as a yet unspecified role. The Expendables 3 director, Patrick Hughes is overseeing the film with production due to begin in January of next year.

With the original and it’s sequel both being so incredible, this got us thinking about what Hollywood will do with the film and what they will need to include and avoid in order to make it even remotely comparable to the standards set by Gareth Evans and his team.
