Gene Simmons Says Rock Is Finally Dead. Here’s Why We Disagree.

Gene Simmons believes Rock to be dead. Well, we disagree. Read here to check out which Rock bands we are excited for.

1. Lonely The Brave – This bands success is undeniable. Having only released their debut The Day’s War on Monday 1st September having been Zane Lowe’s Album of the Week on BBC Radio 1 and received 5Ks in Kerrang, 9/10 in Rock Sound and an 8/10 in NME. They entered the UK album chart at #14 on Sunday 7th September, and gained the chart position at #1 on the UK Rock Album chart.

This follows from an incredible summer, with the band’s festival appearances including ‘Download’ ‘Glastonbury’ and ‘Reading and Leeds,’ having played with Neil Young at Belgium’s Lokerse Festival and playing with Aerosmith at Calling in London. Lonely The Brave’s success not happened overnight. The band struggled continuously whilst writing the record which can be seen below. The band members admit to a hard struggle, and one that did not seem promising. What we must remember is, the Lonely The Brave have become a poster for what their band name stands for – The album is a success because their music is a success. Their hard work and dedicated workmanship has ensured their debut to soar high. Their music will only survive stronger, and louder, within their October co-headline run with UK alt rock outfit Marmozets.
