With the announcement of Lauren Bacall‘s death yesterday, we have compiled a list of of the surviving actors and actresses who are on the American Film Institute‘s 100 Years… 100 Stars list.
It lists 25 men and 25 women who are considered to be the Top 50 ‘screen legends’ of Hollywood‘s Golden Age of filmmaking.
The list was unveiled by the AFI in 1999, in a special television programme hosted by Hollywood Icon, Shirley Temple.
At the time of the unveiling, four of the female legends, Lauren Bacall, Shirley Temple, Katherine Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor, and two male legends, Marlon Brando and Gregory Peck, were still alive.
Unfortunately, this group of six have passed away, two of which in 2014 (Bacall and Temple), and only three others are still alive…
