Topshop always delivers when it comes to great style at a great price. As soon as we previewed the high street giant’s SS14 lookbook, with the clothes modelled by the gorgeous Jourdan Dunn, we knew that Topshop had summer dressing in the bag. Although we’ve reached mid-season now, the store is still consistently updating their stock with some truly covetable (and purse-friendly) pieces. We’ve selected our five favourites. Happy shopping!

If you’re not normally a fan of floral print – it is a bit too girly sometimes – might we suggest you try out the new trend for monochrome florals? This gorgeous dress has an all-over floral print but, because it’s in black and white, it lacks the overly-feminine vibe that most floral prints give off. You can buy it here for £38.

Workout haters rejoice: the one piece is well and truly back, giving you the perfect excuse to stress a bit less about achieving those unachievable washboard abs in time for your summer holiday. Topshop has several one pieces on offer at the moment, but this palm tree print number is our favourite; it just screams ‘cocktails on the beach’ and we love the retro print. You can buy it here for £38, and there is also a bikini version available.

You can never go wrong with black and white, and this cute bouclé skirt has caught our eye for that reason. The cut and fabric are very classic (and very Chanel), while the exposed zip detailing on the back and at the hem add a more contemporary feel. It will look great with both a strappy cami top in the summer and a chunky jumper in the winter so, taking this piece’s versatility and trans-seasonal mileage into account, it works out as a smart buy for just £35.00. This season we’re inundated with options when it comes to footwear: Birkenstocks, jelly shoes, skate shoes, espadrilles… we could go on. Luckily, there is so much choice on the high street that we can afford to buy a couple of pairs. We’re loving these dusty pink suede sandals with contrasting white soles. The jewelled detailing adds glamour to an otherwise simple style, and the straps mean that, unlike those pesky pool slides, your shoes will stay firmly on your feet. You can buy them here for £52.00.

‘Luxe’ backpacks have been something of a stealth trend for a while, slowly infiltrating the high street. We’re so pleased that Topshop have caught onto this, and this backpack ticks all the right boxes for us. The bag is smart enough to wear to work as well as at the weekends, and the gold hardware makes it look a lot more expensive than it actually is. Also available in white, you can buy it here for £34.
