5 Reasons Why We Can’t Wait For Bury Tomorrow To Release Runes

Bury Tomorrow are set to release their next studio album ‘Runes’ at the end of the month: 26th May to be precise. Surrounding it’s release the band are playing this years Slamdunk Festival taking place the weekend of ‘Runes’ release, alongside this they are doing two exclusive album launch shows in Kingston the following weekend. It feels like we have been waiting for this album for ages so we decided to piece together our top reasons about why we can’t wait for the release.

It’s been too long since ‘Union Of Crowns’ came out! The album came out in June of 2012, and almost 2 years later we are itching to get our ears around their new offering. For the next few weeks until it’s release we may just need to leave ‘Union Of Crowns’ on repeat.

‘The Watcher’. When Bury Tomorrow unveiled ‘The Watcher’ on the world it gave us the same goosebumps that e had when we first gave ‘Union Of Crowns’ a spin. The track seems heavier, yet the distinctive clean vocals of Jason Cameron are one of a kind. After it’s release we definitely had it on repeat for a few hours (or days!) This gave us the first glimpse of what we had to look forward to on ‘Runes’ and it has us on the edge of our seats.

Their Groezrock Performance. It felt like an complete age since we saw the lads play live: even though it may have been about 6 months or so but regardless we were excited at the prospect of Bury Tomorrow on the smallest stage half way through the day at Groezrock. (It’s madness how in a different country bands status’ are so very different to over here!) But after half an hour of pure chaos including the biggest circle pit we’re sure the MacBeth stage has witnessed, and us gripping to the front railings for dear life it got us more fired up than before for the albums release.

‘Man On Fire’. Just when we thought ‘The Watcher’ was enough to quench our thirst for the new album they had to go and release another fantastic track. ‘Man On Fire’ was the opening track of their Groezrock Performance and set the overall tone of the set. Listening to it you can hear how far Dani’s vocals have progressed since previous releases. If these two tracks are anything to go by then our ears are in for a big treat!

‘Union Of Crowns’. This album was HTF Rock Editor’s number one album of 2012, therefore ‘Runes’ has come stiff competition to live up to. ‘Union Of Crowns’ showcased exactly what British metal was all about: full of power and depth but with such a strong melody. There are very few albums where every track is as strong as it’s processor and there’s no track we’d skip part way through due to boredom. Listening to this album just get’s us more and more excited for ‘Runes’ to see whether it’s as much of a spectacle!
