High School Musical star, Zac Effron, has confirmed talks with producers about possibly appearing in Star Wars: Episode VII.
Efron expressed his desire to join the cast in MTV’s interview. He said: “I just went and met with [the producers]. So I don’t know. It would be cool. I love [the Star Wars movies], I love them, but…who knows?”
However, fans of the phenomenal franchise have different opinions of the 26-year-old actor starring in this film. Twitter was full of comments, with one writing: “please don’t do this Disney!”
Zac Efron would be joining a number of great actors rumoured to appear in the sequel, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Cumberbatch and Simon Pegg, as well as Breaking Bad’s star Jesse Plemons.
Writer and director, J.J.Abrams recently confirmed the film’s script was finished and that the project was moving into pre-production.
Disney announced a trilogy of new Star Wars films in October 2012 after buying all rights to the well-known franchise.
The original trilogy stars, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, confirmed last week they will be returning for the next series.
Star Wars: Episode VII is set for release in the US on 18 December 2015
