Over 5 million viewers tuned in to BBC One to see Sophie Thompson crowned the winner of Celebrity Masterchef 2014 on Friday.
The actress, who is best known for her former role as Stella in Eastenders, beat fellow finalists Charley Boorman and Jodie Kidd with an impressive three course meal to receive the Masterchef trophy.
Sophie rose to top place with an impressive menu, consisting of a starter of Roulade of Duck stuffed with Juniper Berries, served with Sweetcorn puree, Wild Mushrooms and a Wild Mushroom and Port sauce.
For her main- Oven roasted Brill with Pepper Crust, Seared Scallops, Black Pudding, Samphire, a Chive and Butter Sauce.
For desert she served Steamed Cherry Pudding and Butterscotch Sauce with Crushed Pistachios and Brandy icecream.
Sophie said of her win: “I can’t Adam and Eve it! Thank you so much, this has been the best fun! It’s ridiculous winning something like this!”
She added: “It’s awesome, honestly, it’s mad. It’s M for mad.. the whole thing’s been mad.”
Judge Greg Wallace praised her food as “very much like her, it’s original, it’s individual, it has a style, it’s different. She creates some absolute delights on a plate, they look like little stories to me; they just look amazing.”
