It’s been a steady climb for Nick Frost since the early days of Spaced, the 42 year old British actor had a decisive role in The Cornetto Trilogy, having contributed both as an actor and writer, he was also executive producer and then went on to write and star in Paul alongside his old friend Simon Pegg.

After nailing his first lead role as Bruce in Cuban Fury, Frost has now set his sights on the Director’s chair. The project of choice? Something to satisfy his inner nerd no doubt, a short horror film he wrote the script for when taking a break from shooting the comedy “Business or Pleasure,” in which he stars alongside Vince Vaughn and Dave Franco.

The choice to sit behind the camera this time was inspired by his experiences with long time collaborator Edgar Wright, “Our films, we have so much say in terms of how it should be done. Not with Edgar — Edgar’s different because he’s a savant and has worked out every possible angle before we even got to set, but the things I do without Edgar, people are always happy for you to pipe up and say, ‘Hey, maybe we should shoot this here.

The film is expected to shoot in May or June of this year with a release date still to be confirmed.
