Darien JonsonChristopher Weite and Jaime Griffon have all featured as walkers within The Walking Dead. After contacting them – via a quick Google search that led to Twitter pages after their contact details were unknown on IMDB – the three generously told of their experiences throughout their life as a walker. We decided to interview all three of them in this The Walking Dead special interview series.

In this interview, Weite discusses how he managed to acquire the role, his ability to remain in character throughout his experience and his opportunity of working with some recognisable faces.

HTF: How did you get the chance to play a walker in The Walking Dead?

CW: Honestly it took alot of hard work, research and showing what you can do.

HTF: Did it seem daunting to be a part of such a popular franchise or did it help to be amongst many others with similar roles?

CW: No, as an Actor you have to be ready for anything, its the life of an Actor, changes day by day, minute by minute. I find larger productions to be great.

HTF: Could you talk me through the process of having your makeup done?

CW: Make up in quite simple, its best to arrive with a clean shaven face and just sit back and relax and let the master apply there art, just be sure to be still and listen to all they ask you too do. Layer by layer till its complete. Its one of the best FX teams I have come across.

HTF: Was it ever difficult to remain in role and were there any difficulties in portraying such a creature?

CW: No, I enjoy it..character acting is my thing. Suit me up, cover me in blood, FX, etc and I’m ready too go! I have a thing for keeping in character.

HTF: Did you get the opportunity to work with any of the leading actors?

CW: I have worked on scenes with both David Morrissey and Lawrence Gillard Jr. in Season 4

HTF: How would you sum up your experience?

CW: My experience the few times I was on set was amazing, from the other Walkers, to the production staff and Actors, everyone has always been humble and its always a blast.

HTF: Finally, do you have any upcoming projects/roles and where can our readers find you?

CW: My most recent role was a Featured Zombie in a filmed called Zombie Killers: Elephants Graveyard set to release later this year in 2014
