The latest trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has just been released. We have been fed a couple of teasers, but this is the first full-blown slice of the action.
We have previously seen Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo and Raphael in their latest Michael Bay-driven incarnation, but what we find out this time round, is more of the story.
Similarly to the TV show, the plot seems to feature the turtles master/father, Splinter, getting injured and the turtles having to unite against their greatest enemy, Shredder. Sadly there appears to be no sign of other surpervillain, Krang though, who never seems to make it to the big-screen. Megan Fox also features as the ally of the gang, reporter April O’Neil.
This does seem to be a pretty dark version of the much-loved eightees children’s cartoon, but the turtles, especially Michelangelo, do appear to still be able to crack-wise with the best of them when the times are tough. Whether or not his love of pizza will be included is also yet to be seen.
What we also know is that the action due Jonathan Liebesman and Michael Bay are behind this latest adaptation, with the former on directing duties. Both have made a few questionable movies in the past and given the extremely loyal fan base that the turtles have, the initial reaction has been fairly mixed.
Make up your own mind with the trailer below, ahead of an October 17 UK release:
