24: Live Another Day Gets A Superbowl Teaser Trailer

Bauers back to live another day. Find out what’s happening with the new limited series of 24 and the much anticipated 24 film.

The 24: Live Another Day has had its teaser aired at one of the world’s most important sporting events, the Superbowl.

Details are sparse at the moment, but the location is clear as Keifer Sutherland reprises his role as the relentless special agent Jack Bauer. He carries CTU tech analyst, Chloe O’ Brian, out of the wreckage covered London streets which have become a battlefield, littered with burnt out cars and debris.

In the last series of 24 we saw Jack Bauer  dropping off the grid entirely, following a tense near execution that was cancelled last minute by the President, so it will be interesting to see what role Jack plays in this series considering his more-vigilante-than usual actions may have made it impossible for him to return to CTU this time. It’s possible that Jack may be hired by MI5 rather than reinstated by CTU, although that is just speculation.

Bauer will be returning to US screens on the FOX network for a limited series of 12 episodes, with Stephen Fry playing the role of the prime minister. In the US the show will air May 5, but in the UK people will have to wait it out a bit longer as a date has yet to be announced. The UK setting will definitely add an intriguing change of setting to the mix and no doubt some unfamiliar adversaries.

Many fans were waiting eagerly for a 24 film, which according to Sutherland; there is still a strong possibility of the feature film being made. Here’s what he had to say to Total Film recently:

“The film is an ongoing situation. There’s always an opportunity to do that. Howard [Gordon] came up with an idea for a 12-episode run at this, and it was the opportunity that presented itself to us first.” He added: “It was a fantastic idea, and it’s something that we’re very excited about doing, and it’s something that we’re really primarily focused on. So, if this ends up rebooting the show or causing a film to be made, so be it.”

The show will see many familiar faces return to our screens, including Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver and William Devane and will also see an ensemble of new charchters including; John Boyega, Giles Matthey, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Michael Wincott, Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter, Chuck) and Judy Davis.
