Having shot up in the rock/metal scene, playing huge festivals such as Download previously this summer, Black Veil Brides are now one of the most recognisable rock groups of the moment. Their appearance is probably one of their most noticeable traits, taking style tips from the likes of glam rock kings KISS. But their fun rock style of music has proven popular. They’ve stuck to the generic rock laws – lots of heavy riffs, solo’s and chorus’s great for singing along to.
Their new single, ‘Rebel Love Song’, sticks to their original style; the way it keeps its fast pace all the way through is the most distinctive part of the track, it’s nonstop! The chorus and pre-chorus stand up for what they do best, getting the rock out to the people and having them scream it back. You can easily see this being really messy at a gig, with everyone going crazy and singing along with front man Andy Six.
The song doesn’t really slow down much, but the mental solo just over half way adds even more extremeness to the song. Unfortunately, you don’t normally hear of much music like this anymore. There used to be tons of bands that just played plain fun rock and metal so it’s nice to finally hear it come back again.
Black Veil Brides used to be a band you only really listened to if you was just flicking through the music channels. However, the more you listen to them, the more they seem to grow on you. Personally I can see myself liking them so much more day after day and I expect their fan base to increase rapidly in time. Bring on October – they’re hitting Exeter on their UK tour and it is obvious that some face paint might even just be in order…
