Self-styled ‘cine-grime’ artist Lex Jones has unveiled the first instalment in his four-part epic ‘The Space Tourist’.
Each part of the project will be released with an accompanying short film, telling the life of Mr JJ, an isolated and forgotten elderly man who has spent his entire life building a dream-fuelled spaceship out of rubbish with the hope of leaving humanity behind and escaping to the Moon.
The 27-year-old wordsmith from Slough produces unique works that fuse grime with cinematic music, provided my German pianist and composer Hauschka in this latest offering.
‘The Space Tourist Part I’ can be seen in all its glory below, and the remaining chapters will be released over the next three months.
Lex’s first single ‘Ever Had That Feeling’ was released after he won the first King Of The Mic contest in Berkshire, for which he also received a cash prize. Since then his music career has been on a steady upwards trajectory, and back in March, a remix of his track ‘Stay Out of the Sun’ played by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1.
