Interview: Cleo Sol (Exclusive)

With her single ‘High‘ about to drop on September 18th, Cleo Sol is on her way to becoming household name. A past that has seen her already work alongside some of the UK’s top artists including Tinie Tempah, Roll Deep and Bashy, it seems the perfect time to showcase her own talent.

High‘ is a fun track which touches on having a crush on someone in a reggae, ska and hip hop fused beat, making it the perfect summer song. Expect this to be a hit with the girls!

We caught up with Cleo Sol to talk about the single, future plans, perfect playlist for a summer bike ride and more. Read our exclusive interview with Cleo Sol below.

HTF: Thanks for taking the time out to chat with us. How’s your weekend been?
Cleo Sol: No problem, my carnival weekend was really good, really enjoyed myself.

HTF:For those that don’t know about Cleo Sol yet, how would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Cleo Sol: Fun, fab and fruity.

HTF: Your single ‘High’ will be dropping on September 18th what can you tell us about it.
Cleo Sol: I wrote the song with a crush I had on somebody at the time, its about liking somebody, but the don’t know yet, and how they make me feel really good inside.

HTF: Gabby Ranks features on the single (wow) how did that come about?
Cleo Sol: When I was in studio we were (peckins the producer and I) going over who we would like to feature on the track and he mentioned Gappy Ranks and I was up for it.

HTF: You have already worked alongside some of the UK’s top talent in Tinie Tempah, Bashy and Davinche, who would you like to work with next?
Cleo Sol: At the moment I am focusing on my solo stuff, so I don’t have any collaborations in mind, but maybe down the line I might, later.

HTF: Are there any plans for an album?
Cleo Sol: Yes, I am in the making of it now.

HTF: What was the last album that you bought?
Cleo Sol: I bought Stevie Wonder-Innervisions the other day.

HTF: We’ve heard you are a keen bike rider, what would be your perfect playlist for a summers day bike ride.
Cleo Sol: Justin Timberlake- justified album.

HTF: What else do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Cleo Sol: I love to cook, and hang out with my family and close friends, I’m a real home girl.
