Earlier this evening Small Town Records band from Derby Violet announced that their keys player Tom Cotton had left the band. A band statement can be read here below.
Unfortunately we have decided to part ways with our keys player Tommy. This is a mutual agreement between us all, as Tommy wants to move on with other things in his life. We feel this is the best choice for the band. We are and will always remain good friends with Tommy, there is no love lost! We wish him all the best with his future Endeavours.
A statement from Tommy himself was posted on his own personal Facebook today also. This can also be read below:
‘The end of a huge chapter of my life. As of today I am no longer a part of Violet. The mutual decision was made for the benefits of both myself and the the rest of the band. I feel I can longer be a part of something that my heart is not fully into. I will continue to support the the rest of the guys and wish them all the best in the future. I have several up and coming projects (with Jonny Kush Nelson) that hopefully you will hear when complete. This band has been my life for the past three years and Iv met some of the best people because of it. So to all of you this is good bye, but hopefully we will meet again.’
Violet are soon to be heading out on tour with A Lot Like Birds in Europe. Dates and all the information can be found via their Facebook http://www.facebook.com/violetmusic
