Reading and Leeds festival have revealed their third UK exclusive by announcing Green Day will perform this August Bank holiday weekend. With the further additions of the likes of Wiley, Chase and Status, Nine Inch Nails, Skrillex, System of a Down and Jake Bugg the line-up makes for one of the most exciting and varied of recent history.
Since winning the best festival prize at the NME awards last month, Reading and Leeds have announced more stages, more bands and now more exclusives than ever before with headliners Biffy Clyro, Eminem and now punk pop legends Green Day appearing in their only UK festivals of the year. In addition System of a Down and Deftones will play exclusively and Mercury music Prize winners Alt-J will head up the Radio 1 stage.
Fans of Green Day will be pleased to see the band play a full set after their shock 11am set on the Radio 1 stage last year, but don’t put that down to a one-off, the festival organisers have promised more entertainment than ever before, so be prepared for plenty more surprises.
There are more acts set to be announced but the current line-up – including all of today’s bands – is available here.
Reading and Leeds takes place on August 23rd-25th with day tickets priced at around £90 and weekend passes from £202.50 and are available on their official site here.
