Tough cookie and bad girl of pop, Pink, recently revealed all to GQ Australia about motherhood among other things, like cheesecake… mmmm.
The 33-year-old, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, is well known for her heartfelt lyrics and kick-ass attitude. This has made her an idol for young people around the world as fans find her music empowering.
Pink explained to GQ why she thinks that is, “I figure the reason people like me is because they’re going through the same shit or can empathise. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been attracted to minorities, and I think that’s part of the connection. I get the struggle.”
However, the ‘True Love’ hitmaker revealed that it’s not always hearts and flowers for her. “I’m sometimes really said. I watch the news, I have a father who is ill with Agent Orange. I have a grandmother who just passed away and friends who are single mums.”
Willow, her 2-year-old daughter, makes everything better and Pink explains how important she is. “She’s the coolest thing that ever happened to me. I didn’t want kids. I was terrified. The relationship I had with my mother was really rocky at times.”
Even with having a troublesome childhood, motherhood has come naturally to Pink and we’ve seen her going from strength to strength as a mother, and a person. She revealed her new found outlook on life, since motherhood began: “Willow’s made me realise I’d be okay with letting all this go. If nothing else happened to me as ‘Pink’, I would feel really proud of what I’ve done.’
With a gorgeous daughter, having sold over 40 million albums and 70 million singles worldwide, and being a major style icon – we would definitely be proud of all that!
Pink adds, “And i’d be totally okay and just have more babies, eat lots of cheesecake, ride my bike and give people the middle finger.” We think that’s a great plan. Cheesecake makes everything better.
