The Masked Ball returns to the cliffs of Cornwall; this time the party will last all day and all night with a brand new 24-hour license.
It’s no secret that we think The Masked Ball in Cornwall is one of the best festivals in Europe; perhaps the world. We’re not the only ones, The Guardian recently listed the festival among their top 10 list – the only one in the UK.
Now with the addition of The Underworld and a 24-hour alcohol & music license, things are set to be elevated beyond expectations; think Block 9 or Shangri La at Glastonbury, with a dose of Cornwall’s crazy party animals. That’s a recipe for one hell of a party! Check out our interview with Kelvin Batt & Alec Short about the underworld by clicking here.
The line up is looking pretty packed this year; Joe Goddard (Hot Chip), Horse Meat Disco, Fort Romeau, Optimo, Princeless (a remarkable Prince tribute act) and Daft as Punk (who are recreating the pyramid stage & production from the “Alive” tour).
The production is what brings The Masked Ball to life; from stages that resemble giant Gramaphones to Samurai Temples and Alice in Wonderland, The Masked Ball is a spectacle. Crawling through tunnels to get to some of the stages is also a lot of fun!
Then there’s the sound & lighting, some of the best in the business with thumping sound systems and lighting that will now push through the night.
