One of Britpops biggest fueds was finally put to bed for good last night as Noel Gallagher joined Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon of Blur onstage (with Modfather Paul Weller on drums to boot) at London’s Royal Albert Hall last night (23rd) for a performance of ‘Tender’. You can see fan-shot footage of the performance below.
During the Britpop days there was certainly no love between ex-Oasis man Noel and Blur, with Noel retorting in one interview around the time that he wished Damon would “get AIDS and die”. Albarn had also said in the past: “I can’t make up with Noel. Britpop would be over and heaven forbid that we’d ever admit we’d all grown up!” But the pair have thawed over the past few years, and were seen hanging together at the Brit Awards last month.
The show was part of the Teenage Cancer Trust’s week long series on concerts curated this year by Noel Gallagher, you can visit the site and donate at www.teenagecancertrust.org.
