NME Awards Roundup and Full List Of Winnners

The Rolling Stones and Florence + The Machine both won doubles last night at the NME awards. The Rolling Stones took home both Best Live Band despite only playing two UK shows last year along with the Best Music DVD award for ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ while Florence of Florence + The Machine took home both Best Solo Artist and Best Dancefloor Filler for her Calvin Harris collaboration ‘Sweet Nothing

Hit The Floor favourites Haim must be feeling pretty traumatised however after losing in 3 of their 4 nominated categories. The band were set for a whitewash including Best New Band, Best Video and Best Track but wound up only taking home Best Twitter for member Alanna Haim’s @babyhaim acccount.

Other big winners included Biffy Clyro, who won Best British Band, while Foals took home a gong with their song ‘Inhaler’ being crowned Best Track. The Maccabees took home Best Album for ‘Given To The Wild’ while Palma Violets stole Best New Band.

Big performances on the night came from Biffy Clyro – who opened proceedings - and Foals. Paul Weller and Miles Kane meanwhile unveiled their new collaboration ‘Your Gonna Get It’ to the lucky people at London’s Troxy.

Godlike Genius winner Johnny Marr was joined on stage by Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones as part of his 6 song set. The pair performed ‘How Soon Is Now’ while he was also joined by Justin from The Vaccines for a rendition of ‘I Fought The Law’ by The Clash.
