While X- Men: Days of Future Past is yet to see its release, fans of the film franchise are now all looking towards the film’s successor, X- Men: Apocalypse which is currently being co- written and produced by Bryan Singer, (The Usual Suspects, X- Men and X- Men 2).
Following its announcement before Christmas, Singer has revealed more information on exactly what the films story will entail.
Singer States that: “It will address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that. It’s something that’s always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.”
However, Singer is in no rush to reveal too much information on the plot but is quoted in saying that: “something that happens in Days Of Future Past causes what’s going to happen in Apocalypse”.
Exciting news indeed for X- Men fans but questions are still being risen as to whether or not Bryan Singer will actually be jumping behind the camera for the directing of the film, which he has expressed a keen desire to do.
“I’m co-writing the story and I’m producing it,” he says, “and I’m negotiating to direct. We’re in the process. We’re trying to figure it out, schedules. My desire would be to direct it.”
Although before we reach the Apocalypse we have yet to be enticed by Days of Future Past which will see a release on May 22nd and thus far features a hotly tipped cast including: James McAvoy, Peter Dinklage, Michael Fassbender, Evan Peters, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Shawn Ashmore, Ian McKellen, Fan Bingding, Daniel Cudmore and Ellen Page.
X- Men: Apocalypse is scheduled for a 2016 release.
