L’Wren Scott has requested that London Fashion Week receives more time and attention on the international show schedule. The designer will be showing her latest collection in London again for the second season in September.
Talking out about the fashion event she said: “It’s such a shame for London, that it’s all squeezed into such a short space of time – it really needs to be given more focus on the calendar. Everyone I called to come to London last season came – I just got on the phone and gave them a call and invited them. And everyone said thank you, because they found it really interesting. Some of them had never been before and it meant that they were able to discover new things. It’s really important to bring focus to the London schedule – more British fashion designers should do that.”
With her long term partner being Brit musician Mick Jagger, it’s no surprise that Scott is smitten with the capital. Scott’s A/W 2013-14 show in February saw an array of A-listers gather at the catwalk, a lucky handful were even treated to a lavish banquet.
Opening up to Vogue about the show Scott said, “I loved it last season, I had such a great time. It just felt very different – I mean, every show is different, but this more so. I’m researching a few things now, but I like to do something low-key and intimate. I always prefer more personal events – it’s very important to really be able to evoke what you love.”
